(taught at a Bible Study and YP professionals)

The expectation of Simon the Sorcerer  (Acts 8:9-24).

The expectation of Samuel

What are you expectations today?

An accountant expects to balance her figures.

A fireman expects to save lives.

A reporter expects that

A salesman expects to make a big sale

But sometimes our expectations are not met and we can end up all disappointed.

As Young professionals we expect a lot of things

  • We expect thirteen month pay
  • We expect to be promoted
  • We expect to receive a bonus in relation to our performance

In the realm of the spiritual there is also a twofold expectation.

Our expectations of God.

And God's expectations of us.

Let's begin with our expectations of God.

  • We expect God to provide for us
  • We expect God to protect us
  • We expect God to forgive us
  • Prosper us

What does God expect of us.

  • To be his child
  • To be obedient
  • To grow in grace and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
